As a parent I realize how easy it is to be so invested that we fail to realize when we are approaching that line that we just shouldn't cross. All to often, when we think we are approaching that line, we should be looking behind us.

Part of being a parent is understanding that our kids need to be allowed to experience things without us hovering over them. As parents we often want to get involved in our kids lives, while they are more than capable of handling these things on their own.

All to often, players are not only embarassed by the meddling of their parents, but stuck in a position that puts them between a parent and a coach. One in which I always tell my players that they must obey and honor their parents whether I agree with it or not.
